SALA MALEKUM.
I start my interest in reggae music right after Bob Marley visited Cuba in 1978; he played at a Peace's Concert in La Habana and I was so blessed to see him. After that I tough myself shuffling and the reggae's riddim on the piano which at the time I was learning at the Music Conservatory. Two years later I landed in USA through the Mariel Boatlift's exodus and my journey to seek JAH took over. I had been honor to be tough true reggae music playing along I-dren like Burning Spears, Shaggy, Culture, Ipso Facto, Super Irie, Tony Rebel, Killer Bees and a dozen of others reggae stars. While in Cuba reggae music was not welcome because it was something new and when I pioneered a small group in 1979, recepcion was not received well due to ignorance about the genre. It was until 1992 while in Madison, WI when I started my first american reggae band named "I & I"; then two years later ARAWAK JAH was born and history was made. I praised every and all the people/musicians/friends/fans for allowing me to grow for the last 14 years. With 10 cds and not is rich as some big musicians from all sort of others genre of music, I feel privileged to learn reggae is what I do best. JAH BE BLESSED for the gift I & I has been given to spread my vibes and share with everyone who become my friend, my fan, my family because for me I not for the "money", but for the liasion that reggae create between I & I and every JAH's children that is send my way. I recently became a Palero and Santero and for that reason my next music project will include chants to the ORISHAS and to all the deities that surround us. Reggae is AFRICA and so our ancestros, our religions, our faith and believe.
